Governor Cooper Names Commission and Council Chairs

Governor Roy Cooper today announced four chairs of councils and commissions.

“I am confident these leaders will serve our great state with distinction, and I am grateful for their service,” said Governor Cooper.

Governor Cooper has named:

Courtney Crowder as Chair of the Lottery Commission. Crowder has nearly fifteen years of experience in public affairs and government relations. Prior to founding Crowder Consulting, he served four years as Legislative Director and senior advisor to Governor Bev Perdue.

Jane Finch as Chair of the Ethics Commission. Finch was initially appointed to the Commission on January 1, 2007 for a one-year term. She was subsequently reappointed to two four-year terms on the Ethics Commission. Finch was appointed to the Board of Ethics (which preceded the State Ethics Commission) in 1993, was elected vice chairman, and continued to serve on the Board of Ethics until she was appointed to the Ethics Commission in 2007.

Mayor Zander Guy as chair of the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. Mayor Guy previously served as a member of the ABC Commission from 2009-2012 including one year as chair. He has also served as a member of the NC Banking Commission and as mayor of Surf City and Jacksonville. Mayor Guy currently serves on the Cape Fear Community College Board of Trustees.

Stephen Hill as Chair of the Arts Council. Hill previously served as a board member on the Council for the Arts. Currently, Hill serves as the Director/Vice-President for Hillco, Ltd., and on the boards of Discovery Insurance Co. and Mother Earth Brewing.
