Governor Proclaims Disability Professionals Month 2023

WHEREAS, disability professionals touch the lives of countless people throughout our state and nation; and

WHEREAS, disability professionals are devoted to increasing the expertise and education in their field, along with raising public awareness; and

WHEREAS, each year, North Carolina dedicates the month of October to raising awareness around disability and those affected by it; our state is committed to Executive Order No. 92:  Employment First for North Carolinians with Disabilities; and

WHEREAS, North Carolina will join the nation in observing Disability Professionals Month, beginning October 1, 2023; and

WHEREAS, the dedication and hard work of disability professionals and the valuable services they perform should be recognized;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim October, 2023, as “DISABILITY PROFESSIONALS MONTH” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
