Governor Proclaims Facility Management Day 2022

WHEREAS, facilities management is a critical, strategic business discipline which integrates people, place, and process within the built environment with the purpose of improving the quality of life of people and the productivity of the core business; and
 

WHEREAS, World Facility Management (FM) Day aims to recognize the efforts of the FM profession anywhere that Facility Management Professionals (FMs) influence the health, safety, productivity, and well-being of people who utilize the built environment; and
 

WHEREAS, FMs and our associate members across North Carolina build, support, and maintain facilities in sectors and industries such as medical, production, food supply, office buildings, transportation, education, financial, and real estate; and
 

WHEREAS, our FMs, whether government or private sector, continually learned about and implemented best practices to keep facilities opened and maintained in a safe manner during the COVID-19 pandemic; and
 

WHEREAS, we are grateful for the contributions North Carolina FMs make on a daily basis to our infrastructure, the safety of North Carolinians, and our economy;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim May 11, 2022, as “FACILITY MANAGEMENT DAY” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
