WHEREAS, this year, Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, headquartered at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, celebrates its 80th year of operation; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the FRC East is to provide depot maintenance, engineering, and logistics support on a variety of aircraft, engines, and components for all branches of the United States Armed Forces; and
WHEREAS, through dedication, commitment, and an unequaled work ethic, the organization’s engineers, artisans, and general employees have distinguished FRC East as among the best in the United States Navy; and
WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina encourages people to give proper recognition to the important service rendered by the men and women of this organization, and join in honoring FRC East on this occasion of its 80th Anniversary;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim December 16, 2023, as “FLEET READINESS CENTER EAST 80th ANNIVERSARY” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
