WHEREAS, the people of North Carolina are concerned with quality, cost, access to and safety of healthcare; and
WHEREAS, improved healthcare outcomes result in better quality of life and decreased healthcare costs, which ultimately benefits the citizens of North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, healthcare quality professionals make a positive contribution to improved healthcare quality by educating, monitoring processes and outcomes, analyzing data to facilitate improved systems, helping to integrate new evidence-based practices, maintaining high ethical standards and leading continual improvement initiatives in the varied healthcare organizations providing service to the citizens of North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, the delivery of high quality, cost-effective and safe healthcare to its citizens is important to the State of North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, healthcare quality professionals across North Carolina have demonstrated a commitment to these goals in their work across the healthcare delivery system;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim October 17-23, 2021, as “HEALTHCARE QUALITY WEEK” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
