Today, Gov. Roy Cooper announced the appointment of Ashleigh Parker Dunston as a Wake County District Court Judge. She replaces Judge Jacqueline Brewer, who retired in August from the 10th Judicial District in Wake County.
Dunston has most recently served as an Assistant Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice. She previously worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Wake County, prosecuting identity theft, child abuse, and death by motor vehicle cases.
A native of Hickory, NC, Dunston graduated from Wake Forest University and North Carolina Central University School of Law.
“As an Assistant Attorney General and in the Wake County District Attorney’s office, Ashleigh Parker Dunston has been a strong advocate for North Carolina families. Her knowledge of the law and commitment to our state will make her an excellent judge,” said Governor Cooper.
