Today, Governor Roy Cooper appointed Brian Tomlin of Greensboro to serve as District Court Judge for Judicial District 18 in Guilford County.
“Mr. Tomlin brings extensive legal experience to the bench and will serve the people of North Carolina well,” said Gov. Cooper.
Tomlin will fill the seat previously held by the Honorable Lora Cubbage, who now serves as a Superior Court Judge in Guilford County.
Tomlin attended the University of Virginia, received his master’s degree from UNC-Greensboro and his Juris Doctor from the North Carolina Central School of Law.
His previous legal experience includes serving as a deputy county attorney for Guilford County and work in private practice. Tomlin has taught as an adjunct professor at several universities since 1995, including NC A&T University, Elon University and High Point University.
