Gov. Cooper Appoints New Superior Court Judge for Alamance County

Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Judge Thomas Lambeth to preside in Alamance County Superior Court.
 
“Judge Lambeth is a seasoned judge and respected member of the legal community who brings years of legal experience to the bench,” Gov. Cooper said.
 
Judge Lambeth will serve as a Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 15A in Alamance County. He has served as a North Carolina District Court Judge since 2007. Judge Lambeth also brings 22 additional years of legal experience to his new appointment, in which he became the first Alamance County attorney to be recognized by the North Carolina State Bar as a Board Certified Specialist in Federal and State Criminal Law. 
 
Judge Lambeth is an engaged community member who has served on the boards of various charities including the Boys and Girls Club and the United Way of Alamance County. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 
 
Judge Lambeth’s new seat was previously held by Judge Wayne Abernathy, who will retire from the court on June 30, 2017.
