Governor Cooper Announces Appointment for Judicial District 11 Serving Harnett, Johnston and Lee Counties

Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Jason H. Coats to serve as District Court Judge in Judicial District 11, serving Harnett, Johnston and Lee counties. 

“Coats has served the people in the district for years, and I’m confident in his ability to serve as District Court Judge,” said Governor Cooper. 

Jason H. Coats of Four Oaks will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Robert W. Bryant. Since 2004, Coats has been a partner at Wilkins, Wellons & Coats, practicing civil, criminal, and corporate law. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Johnston County Bar Association and North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Coats received his B.A. from Campbell University, his M.B.A. from Campbell University School of Business and his J.D. from Campbell University School of Law.
