Governor Offers Reward in Murders in Guilford County

<p>Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that the State is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murders of Asia Brown, 22 years old, and her son, Ashton Brown, 2 years old.</p>

Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that the State is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murders of Asia Brown, 22 years old, and her son, Ashton Brown, 2 years old.

On Sunday, February 22, 2015, Asia and Ashton Brown were reported missing after Ms. Brown failed to report to work that weekend. On Monday, February 23, 2015, officers with the Greensboro Police Department responded to an undeveloped area of Thurston Avenue in Greensboro following a report of a burned vehicle with what was believed to be human remains inside. The human remains were later positively identified to be those of Asia and Ashton Brown. The car was so badly burned officials were unable to determine exactly how they died.
