Governor Cooper released a new video today on his multi-year plan to raise teacher salaries to first in the Southeast in three years and at least the national average in five years. The Governor’s plan includes an average 5% raise this year and another average 5% the next year. This is the largest two-year investment in North Carolina teacher salaries in the last decade.

Governor Roy Cooper today announced a multi-year investment in North Carolina teachers that would raise teacher salaries to first in the Southeast in three years and at least the national average in five years. 

At an education event held this morning, Gov. Roy Cooper encouraged leaders in business and education to support improvements in North Carolina’s K-12 school system, including an increase in teacher pay.
