Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that Barrier Fencing Supply Company, a business offering a broad selection of aluminum and vinyl fences to residential and commercial markets, will create 151 jobs in North Carolina.  The company reports it will invest $15 million to establish a headquarters and manufacturing center in Columbus County.
Today, Governor Josh Stein and the State Emergency Response Team are providing further updates on the state of winter weather, as well as resources for North Carolinians who are impacted by the storm. Governor Stein advises that all North Carolinians continue to pay attention to their local weather forecasts and stay off the roads as much as possible.  
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced the appointment of William “Bill” Jones to the District Court for Judicial District 43, serving Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, and Swain Counties. Jones is filling the vacancy created after Judge Roy Wijewickrama was appointed to the Superior Court in November 2024. 
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced he is requesting $19 billion in federal funds for Helene recovery and rebuilding. The Governor met with Senators Tillis and Budd Thursday to advocate for critical investments in western North Carolina’s recovery. Read Governor Stein’s full statement below:  
This morning, Governor Josh Stein provided updates on winter weather and information for North Carolinians to help them stay safe. As the winter storm pushes through much of North Carolina today and tomorrow, Governor Stein advised that all North Carolinians continue to take caution, listen to local officials, and plan accordingly for the snow, ice, and cold weather. 
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that Provalus, an information technology outsourcing firm, will establish a Center of Excellence in  Edenton that will create 61 jobs. The Provalus project brings an investment of $6.48 million to Chowan County and will add to the company’s existing presence in North Carolina. 
Today, the African American Heritage Commission and the Legislative Black Caucus joined Governor Josh Stein in celebrating Black entrepreneurs at a Black History Month reception.  
Today, Governor Stein declared a state of emergency as emergency officials prepare for winter weather to impact the majority of the state. In a briefing this morning, Governor Stein, Director of Emergency Management Will Ray, and Secretary of Transportation Secretary Joey Hopkins provided an update on the winter weather that will impact much of the state starting Wednesday and into Thursday.
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a manufacturer of IT equipment, will add 45 new jobs in Craven County. The company will invest $11 million to expand its facility in New Bern.
Today, Governor Stein provided updates as North Carolina prepares for winter weather this week. Governor Stein is advising North Carolinians to plan ahead for snow, ice, and strong winds, and to follow safety guidance from local officials.
