Today, Governor Roy Cooper signed the following bill into law:

  • Senate Bill 3: An Act to Enact the 2018 Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery Act

POLYWOOD, a manufacturer of outdoor furniture made from recycled plastics, will create 384 jobs over five years in Person County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest $35.3 million to open a manufacturing and distribution center in Roxboro.

North Carolina will receive $27 million over the next year to fight the state’s opioid epidemic by getting people off opioids and preventing others from misusing them, Governor Roy Cooper announced today.

Governor Roy Cooper announced two more storm related deaths from Tropical Storm Michael were confirmed in McDowell County today.  

As North Carolina feels the impacts of Tropical Storm Michael, Governor Roy Cooper continued to urge all North Carolinians to take this storm seriously, and stay alert as conditions deteriorate during the day due to high winds and heavy rainfall.

As Tropical Storm Michael’s punishing winds and rains sweep across North Carolina, Governor Roy Cooper announced that the storm has claimed the life of a man who died this afternoon in Iredell County when a tree fell on his vehicle.

Less than one month after Hurricane Florence made landfall in North Carolina, Governor Roy Cooper today shared his state budget recommendations for Florence recovery and future storm resiliency. 

To prepare North Carolina for Hurricane Michael, Governor Roy Cooper today declared a State of Emergency and waived certain transportation rules. Forecasters expect the storm to bring strong wind and rain to North Carolina.
