Today, Governor Josh Stein announced the following judicial appointments:Judge Stephen C. Stokes to the Superior Court for Judicial District 14A, serving part of Cumberland County. Stokes is filling the vacancy created after Judge Claire Hill retired.

Today, Governor and First Lady Stein visited elementary schools to celebrate Read Across America Week. First Lady Anna Stein read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff at Brunson Elementary in Winston-Salem, which she attended. Meanwhile, Governor Stein visited Belville Elementary School in Brunswick County to celebrate National Read Across America Week and proclaim March as Reading Month in North Carolina.

Governor Josh Stein today announced that the Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 13 grant requests to local governments totaling $9,627,500. The grants include commitments creating a total of 785 jobs, 414 of which were previously announced. The public investment in these projects will attract more than $165.9 million in public and private investment. 

Today, Governor Josh Stein announced Boards and Commissions appointments. Governor Stein has appointed the following individual to the MyFutureNC Board of Directors: 

Governor Josh Stein announced today that communities statewide will receive more than $265 million in funding for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects. These loans and grants will help to pay for 99 projects in 45 different counties. The awards include funding to address emerging contaminants (PFAS) and identify and replace lead pipes.

This week, Governor Stein and the North Carolina Department of Commerce announced five different companies and the NC Rural Infrastructure Authority creating over 800 new jobs in rural North Carolina counties.
