Governor Cooper encourages North Carolinians to participate in the 14th Annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day tomorrow, Saturday, October 28, 2017. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at various collection sites across North Carolina for safe collection of expired or unwanted prescription drugs.

The Trump Administration announced that the federal government will no longer make Cost Sharing Reduction (CSR) payments under the Affordable Care Act, ensuring that health insurance premiums will sky rocket in North Carolina. The President also signed an Executive Order that promotes junk health insurance, increasing costs for middle class families and putting North Carolinians at risk of being discriminated against based on pre-existing conditions. 

Governor Roy Cooper today signed a proclamation declaring September 2017 Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in North Carolina while visiting a local treatment center. 

Governor Cooper voted today to send the Draft Interim Report of the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis to President Trump. The Commission’s vote to send the interim report was unanimous. The interim report can be found here.
