The Office of the Governor of North Carolina is seeking motivated and enthusiastic interns to support with a variety of tasks across the following departments:   

  • Intergovernmental & Outreach
  • Boards & Commissions
  • Volunteer NC
  • Communications
  • Digital
  • Constituent Engagement

Intern responsibilities vary by department, but may include:  

  • Conducting research
  • Compiling social media metrics
  • Drafting social media content including graphic, design, video and/or photos
  • Drafting thank you notes, press releases, invitation and certificates for review.  
  • Compiling press clips for distribution.  
  • Sorting and responding to constituent mail.  

Applicants should have the following qualifications:  

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course of study.  
  • Strong interest in government, public service, and civic engagement.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Discretion when handing confidential or sensitive materials. 

Location: Raleigh, NC  

Position: Internship (Unpaid)

Dates: Summer 2025 (Dates Flexible)
