A Proclamation

Whereas, engineers are dedicated professionals who play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our communities, contributing to economic growth, and improving the quality of life for people around the world through innovation, design, and problem-solving; and

Whereas, engineering is a diverse and dynamic field that encompasses a wide range of disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental, computer, and aerospace engineering, each contributing to the advancement of technology and infrastructure; and

Whereas, the work of engineers in fields such as renewable energy, health care, transportation, and sustainable development provides solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges, promoting a healthier, safer, and more sustainable planet for future generations; and

Whereas, Engineer’s Week is celebrated annually to highlight the significant contributions that engineers make to society, raise awareness of the importance of engineering education, and encourage the next generation of problem solvers, innovators, and leaders; and

Whereas, it is vital that we recognize the achievements of engineers and inspire young people to pursue careers in STEM fields, ensuring a future of continual progress and innovation;

Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim February 16 – 22, 2025, as “Engineer’s Week” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.

 

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this thirteenth day of February in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
