Governor Cooper Proclaims North Carolina Outward Bound School Week 2022

WHEREAS, in the summer of 1967, a group of passionate North Carolinians saw a need to introduce experiential education to the youth of the state; and

WHEREAS, for fifty-five years, North Carolina Outward Bound School has provided an enduring impact for people of all ages and backgrounds through challenging learning expeditions focused on character development, leadership, and service; and

WHEREAS, North Carolina Outward Bound School continues to remind participants that "there is more in us than we know."

WHEREAS, North Carolina Outward Bound School, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, stays committed to its mission of changing lives through challenge and discovery over the years;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim July 6 – 13, 2022, as “NORTH CAROLINA OUTWARD BOUND SCHOOL WEEK” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
