BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA

WHEREAS, these disorders are severely underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed, with only approximately 1,800 cases diagnosed as CDG globally, and only 350 cases currently reported in the United States; and

WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina encourages residents and health care providers across the state to raise awareness and increase the accurate and timely diagnosis of this rare group of inherited metabolic disorders;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim May 16, 2024, as “CONGENITAL DISORDERS OF GLYCOSYLATION AWARENESS DAY” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
