Governor Proclaims Financial Literacy Month 2024

FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH

2024

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Financial Literacy Month is dedicated to improving financial literacy in an effort to ensure all Americans have access to trustworthy financial services and products; and

WHEREAS, during these challenging economic times, financial literacy can help families establish and maintain healthy financial habits; and

WHEREAS, financial literacy helps residents become more knowledgeable about finances and develop skills and strategies to manage personal finances, savings, and credit development; and

WHEREAS, the designation of Financial Literacy Month helps raise public awareness about the importance of financial education in North Carolina; and

WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina encourages state agencies, public and private institutions, regional agencies, and community organizations to facilitate instruction, activities, and initiatives that contribute to developing and enhancing financial capability for economic success;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim April, 2024, as “FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
