A Proclamation

Whereas, North Carolina proudly honors the sacrifices made by spouses and families of the fallen members of the Armed Forces of the United States; and

Whereas, Gold Star Spouses are the spouses of the members and veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States who have died on active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability; and

Whereas, the members and veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States bear the burden of protecting the freedom of the people of the United States; and

Whereas, the State of North Carolina and the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs are committed to providing services, support, and friendship to the spouses of the fallen members and veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States; and

Whereas, the State of North Carolina encourages everyone to remember the sacrifices of the families of fallen members and veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States;

Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim April 5, 2025, as “Gold Star Spouses Day” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.

 

 

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this twenty-fifth day of March in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
