LEAD GIRLS OF NC DAY

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, since launching in December 2015, Learning Everyday Accomplishing Dreams (LEAD) Girls of NC has been dedicated to providing preteen girls with tools and resources to become change makers and leaders in their communities; and

WHEREAS, knowing that their resources do not match their limitless potential, LEAD is an organization that believes every girl deserves a chance to be seen, heard, valued, and equipped; and

WHEREAS, using an evidence-based curriculum, LEAD equips and mentors more than 350 local girls every year to aspire and achieve greatness academically, emotionally and creatively; and

WHEREAS, LEAD Girls of NC is working to build a community and a world where every girl has the confidence, social skills and leadership ability she needs to become an independent, financially-stable woman and an active contributor who gives back to our community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim October 26, 2024, as “LEAD GIRLS OF NC DAY” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
