NATIONAL SALVATION ARMY WEEK

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Salvation Army of Wake County has been serving the people of Wake County since 1887 physically, emotionally, and spiritually; and
WHEREAS, the Salvation Army is present wherever need is greatest, especially during times of crisis, where vulnerable people are more at risk of becoming homeless, hungry, addicted, or spiritually tired; and
WHEREAS, the Salvation Army invites the people of North Carolina to “Love Beyond” and help the organization continue to provide life-changing aid by providing shelter, food, and emergency disaster services to those who need it most; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper on Salvation Army Week to recognize the tremendous impact of philanthropy, volunteerism, and community service in the state of North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, National Salvation Army Week is an opportunity to encourage North Carolina residents to serve others with their resources and time to help support those in need;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim May 13 – 19, 2024, as “NATIONAL SALVATION ARMY WEEK” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
