NATIONAL VETERANS SMALL BUSINESS WEEK

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, nearly two million small businesses across the United States – from Main Street storefronts to virtual high-tech startups that advance America – are veteran-owned, pillars of our economy that support the success of our nation; and
WHEREAS, veteran and military spouse small business owners in our state are resilient, disciplined, and mission-oriented, as reflected by their dedication and service to our country; and
WHEREAS, we recognize and empower veteran entrepreneurs for the significant contributions they make to our economy; and
WHEREAS, National Veterans Small Business Week highlights the programs and services available to veteran entrepreneurs through the U.S. Small Business Administration and resource partners; and
WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina encourages residents to join the national effort to help America’s veteran entrepreneurs start, grow, and expand their small businesses or recover after a disaster, thereby helping our state thrive;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim November 11 – 15, 2024, as “NATIONAL VETERANS SMALL BUSINESS WEEK” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
