NORTH CAROLINA CUSTOMER SERVICE APPRECIATION WEEK

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Customer Service Appreciation Week is an international event to recognize the importance of customer service and to honor those who serve and support customers with the highest degree of care and professionalism on a daily basis; and
WHEREAS, in 1992, it became a national observance when the United States Congress proclaimed it an annual event during the first full week in October, which is celebrated annually by thousands of companies across the United States; and
WHEREAS, more than 91,000 customer service professionals currently serve on the front lines of North Carolina businesses and the public sector; therefore, acting in a critical role not just to their own companies but also to North Carolina’s larger state business economy; and
WHEREAS, businesses are expected to bring more than 445,000 jobs to North Carolina between 2021-2030; and
WHEREAS, to meet the demands of North Carolina’s growing population, which is estimated to have the seventh highest population in the United States by the 2030s, customer service is a pivotal component of customer satisfaction and loyalty, making it an essential profession to fill as the business sector continues to flourish in our state; and
WHEREAS, for North Carolina to remain the top state for business, the highest quality customer service must remain top-of-mind for businesses of all industries and sizes;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim October 7 – 11, 2024, as “NORTH CAROLINA CUSTOMER SERVICE APPRECIATION WEEK” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
