A Proclamation
Whereas, North Carolina is home to the ninth-largest technology workforce in the United States; and
Whereas, the technology industry employs more than 300,000 people across North Carolina with vibrant, growing technology clusters from the coast to the mountains; and
Whereas, women account for more than one-third of the North Carolina technology workforce, making North Carolina the number one state in the nation for female technology employees; and
Whereas, North Carolina’s strength in the technology industry is bolstered by an extensive network of public and private universities and a world-class community college system; and
Whereas, technology companies are growing and helping North Carolina remain one of the most innovative states in the country; and
Whereas, the State of North Carolina is committed to educating and recruiting the next generation of technology innovators who will help propel advanced manufacturing, IT, fintech, software development, life sciences and more;
Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim May 11, 2025, as “Technology Day” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this fifth day of May in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
