TESTICULAR CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, testicular cancer is the leading cancer in males ages 15 to 44, although it can occur at any age from infancy to later life; and

WHEREAS, according to the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation, approximately 9,760 individuals will be diagnosed in 2024 with testicular cancer in the United States; and

WHEREAS, public awareness can increase early detection, and if detected early, testicular cancer is over 95 percent curable; and

WHEREAS, early-stage testicular cancer can be detected by performing monthly self-exams; and

WHEREAS, it is important to recognize those that have been affected by testicular cancer;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY COOPER, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim April, 2024, as “TESTICULAR CANCER AWARENESS MONTH” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
