A Proclamation

Whereas, the Currituck Bulls & BBQ is an annual event held in Powells Point, North Carolina; and

Whereas, the Kansas City Barbeque Society is a nonprofit organization open to all and dedicated to furthering the art of hardwood smoking through public education; and

Whereas, the Currituck Bulls & BBQ is a sanctioned event of the Kansas City Barbeque Society and as such draws contestants from all over North Carolina as well as several other states each year to participate in the competition; and

Whereas, the Grand Champion of the Currituck Bulls & BBQ will receive an invitation to the Jack Daniel’s World Championship cook-off;

Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim November 1, 2025, as “Currituck Bulls & BBQ” in North Carolina and commend its observance to all citizens.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this twenty-first day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.
