A Proclamation

Whereas, law enforcement officers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our communities across the state of North Carolina, and their dedication and service are deeply valued and appreciated; and

Whereas, women in law enforcement have a rich history of service, demonstrating courage, resilience, and a commitment to justice while breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations; and

Whereas, female officers serve with distinction in every capacity of law enforcement, from patrol and investigations to leadership roles, inspiring others with their professionalism, compassion, and dedication; and

Whereas, National Police Woman Day, observed annually on September 12, is an opportunity to honor the contributions of women in law enforcement and recognize their significant impact on the safety and well-being of our state; and

Whereas, the state of North Carolina is proud to celebrate and support the women who protect and serve in police departments, sheriff’s offices, and other law enforcement agencies across the state;

Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim September 12, 2025, as National Police Woman Dayin North Carolina and commend its observance to all citizens.

                                                                

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this twenty-fifth day of August in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
