North Carolina Blood Donation Day

2025

By The Governor Of The State Of North Carolina

A Proclamation

Whereas, the state of North Carolina is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all people living in and visiting our state; and

Whereas, sufficient blood and plasma supplies remain an ongoing public health need both locally and nationally, and our hospitals and medical centers rely on a readily available supply for our residents and visitors; and

Whereas, one blood donation can help save more than one life, and although most of the United States population is eligible to donate blood, only about three percent actually do; and

Whereas, North Carolina is home to many organizations committed to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, including Community Blood Centers of the Carolinas (CBCC), the American Red Cross, and others; and

Whereas, Blood Donation Day serves to remind us that we need to constantly replenish our blood and plasma supply through donation and community awareness;

Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim September 4, 2025, as North Carolina Blood Donation Dayin North Carolina and commend its observance to all citizens.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this twenty-fifth day of August in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
