A Proclamation

Whereas, doctors of chiropractic (DCs) are physician-level providers who deliver evidence-informed care focused on improving function, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life; and

Whereas, doctors of chiropractic complete rigorous doctoral-level education that includes extensive classroom, laboratory, and clinical training to prepare them to evaluate, diagnose, and manage neuromusculoskeletal conditions; and

Whereas, chiropractic care is recognized for its non-drug, non-invasive approach to pain management, injury prevention, and rehabilitation, supporting improved function and overall health for individuals and families; and
 

Whereas, musculoskeletal conditions are among the leading causes of disability and missed workdays, and conservative care approaches can help individuals return to work, participate in family activities, and engage more fully in their daily lives; and
 

Whereas, doctors of chiropractic serve communities across North Carolina, including rural and underserved areas, helping expand access to conservative, patient-centered health care options; and

Whereas, non-drug, non-invasive approaches such as those provided by doctors of chiropractic play an important role in addressing pain while helping reduce reliance on opioid medications and other higher-risk interventions; and
 

Whereas, Chiropractic Health Month highlights the importance of empowering North Carolinians to make informed health care decisions and to consider safe, effective, and conservative options for improving function and supporting lifelong health;

Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim October 2026 as “North Carolina Chiropractic Health Month” in North Carolina and commend its observance.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this twenty-fifth day of September in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-sixth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fifty-first.
