A Proclamation
Whereas, effective parents provide a foundation, support, wisdom, and unconditional love, as well as help children build character, learn responsibility, and reach their full potential, and
Whereas, parents are vital to strong families and thriving communities, and
Whereas, effective parenting reaches beyond the home to help shape future generations, as part of the community effort; and
Whereas, in 1994 the United States Congress established the fourth Sunday of July as National Parents Day, and
Whereas, the State of North Carolina encourages parents to be their best for their own children, children in their care, and children throughout the community to ensure they have the support they need;
Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim July 27, 2025, as “North Carolina National Parents Day” in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this ninth day of July in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.
