A Proclamation
Whereas, nurse practitioners serve as trusted health care providers for patients in North Carolina, working to expand access to health care in underserved communities, and end health disparities; and
Whereas, patients depend on the more than 431,000 licensed nurse practitioners in the United States, including more than 16,000 in North Carolina, to promote health equity as they provide high-quality primary, acute, and specialty health care services, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling while guiding patients to make smarter health and lifestyle choices every day; and
Whereas, nurse practitioners are devoted health care professionals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, compassion, and expertise; and
Whereas, nurse practitioners practice in nearly every health care setting, including clinics, hospitals, private practices, colleges and universities, public health departments, nursing homes and home health locations; and
Whereas, states across the country are empowering nurse practitioners to help meet the increasing demand for health care; and
Whereas, North Carolina is proud to recognize and honor the service of nurse practitioners and the countless contributions they have made over the past half-century and will continue to make to the health and well-being of the residents in our state;
Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim November 9 – 15, 2025, “North Carolina Nurse Practitioner Week” in North Carolina and commend its observance to all citizens.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this fifteenth day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-fifth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.
