North Carolina Parents Day
2026
By The Governor Of The State Of North Carolina
A Proclamation
Whereas, effective parents provide foundation, support, wisdom, and unconditional love for their children, as well as help children build character, learn responsibility, and reach their full potential; and
Whereas, parents are vital to strong families and to thriving communities; and
Whereas, effective parenting reaches beyond the home as part of a community effort to help shape future generations; and
Whereas, in 1994, the United States Congress established the fourth Sunday of July as National Parents’ Day to honor and recognize the vital role of parents rearing children and the importance of effective parenting; and
Whereas, the State of North Carolina encourages parents to be their best for their own children, children in their care, and children throughout our communities to ensure that all have the support and encouragement they need;
Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim July 26, 2026, as “North Carolina Parents Day” in North Carolina and commend its observance to all residents.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this twenty-third day of June in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-sixth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.
