State Employees Combined Campaign Month

2026

By The Governor Of The State Of North Carolina

A Proclamation

Whereas, the State of North Carolina is strengthened by the generosity, compassion, and civic spirit of its public servants, whose service extends beyond their daily work into the communities they call home; and

Whereas, the North Carolina State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC), established in 1984 under Governor James B. Hunt Jr., is the official workplace giving campaign for state employees, providing a trusted and efficient way to support charitable organizations across our state, nation, and world; and

Whereas, since its founding, the SECC has raised more than $130 million for charitable organizations, demonstrating the extraordinary generosity and the collective impact of North Carolina State Employees; and

Whereas, through the SECC, state employees and retirees embody the spirit of “Together We Give. Together We Change Lives.” by contributing time, resources, and monetary support to causes that improve the well-being of individuals and families; and

Whereas, nonprofit organizations supported by the SECC deliver essential services, strengthen communities, and expand opportunities for people across North Carolina, especially those most in need; and

Whereas, the collective impact of North Carolina State Employees demonstrates the power of service and collaboration to help build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient North Carolina;

Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim September 2026 as “State Employees Combined Campaign Month” in North Carolina and commend its observance.
