A Proclamation
Whereas, North Carolina is recognized as a top state for technology innovation and is ranked the fourth-best state in the United States for tech talent growth; and
Whereas, women account for more than one-third of the North Carolina technology workforce, making North Carolina the number one state in the nation for female technology employees; and
Whereas, the technology industry employs more than 300,000 people across North Carolina with new investments in the technology industry regularly being announced across the state; and
Whereas, North Carolina’s strength in the technology industry is bolstered by an extensive network of public and private universities and a world-class community college system; and
Whereas, technology companies are growing and investing in North Carolina, helping our state remain one of the most innovative states in the country; and
Whereas, the State of North Carolina is committed to educating and recruiting the next generation of technology innovators who will help grow the state’s technology workforce in advanced manufacturing, information technology, financial technology products and services, software development, life sciences, artificial intelligence, data science, and more;
Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim May 11, 2026, as “Technology Day” in North Carolina and commend its observance to all residents.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Great Seal of the State of North Carolina at the Capitol in Raleigh this twenty-seventh day of April in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-sixth and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.
