Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced two judicial appointments to North Carolina Superior and District Courts.
“These appointees are knowledgeable leaders who have served their communities well over the years,” Governor Cooper said. “I’m grateful for their willingness to step up and serve our state.”
Sally Kirby Turner has been appointed to serve as a Superior Court Judge in Judicial District 27B, serving Cleveland and Lincoln counties. She was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Forrest Donald Bridges. Turner currently serves as an Assistant District Attorney in Cleveland and Lincoln counties. Previously, she was a Contract Attorney at Davis & Hamrick LLP. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law.
J. Alex Pully has been appointed to serve as a District Court Judge in Judicial District 3B, serving Carteret, Craven and Pamlico counties. He was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the election of the Honorable Bob Cherry to Superior Court. Pully is currently an Assistant District Attorney in the 4th Prosecutorial District and previously served as the Assistant District Attorney in the 10th Prosecutorial District. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law.
