Governor Roy Cooper has announced the nomination of the Honorable Quintin McGee to serve as Special Superior Court Judge. He has been nominated to serve as a Special Superior Court Judge to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Stanley Carmichael on July 1, 2023.
“Judge Quintin McGee brings years of legal and judicial experience to the bench,” Governor Cooper said. “The Superior Court plays an important role in our state’s justice system, and we’re grateful for his willingness to step up and continue serving North Carolina.”
McGee serves as an Assistant Public Defender in North Carolina’s 5th Judicial District. Previously, he served as a District Court Judge for the 13th Judicial District and a Chief Assistant District Attorney for the 15th Prosecutorial District. Judge McGee received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
