Governor Cooper Announces Superior Court and District Attorney Appointments

Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced one judicial appointment to the Superior Court and one District Attorney appointment.

“Both Jason Ramey and Katy Gregg bring extensive legal experience to their new positions and have served North Carolina well over the years,” said Governor Cooper. “I am thankful for their willingness to step up and continue serving their communities and our state in these new roles.”

Jason Ramey has been appointed to serve as Superior Court Judge in Judicial District 22, serving Rockingham and Caswell counties. Ramey will fill the vacancy created by the passing of the Honorable Stanley L. Allen. Ramey currently serves as the District Attorney in Prosecutorial District 22. Previously, he was appointed by Governor Cooper to serve as the District Attorney for Prosecutorial District 17A. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Pensacola Christian College and his Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law.

Katy L. Gregg has been appointed to serve as District Attorney in Prosecutorial District 22, serving Rockingham and Caswell counties. She will fill the vacancy created by current District Attorney Jason Ramey’s appointment to the Superior Court. Currently, Gregg serves as Assistant District Attorney for Rockingham and Caswell counties. Previously, she worked as an associate in The Berger Law Firm, P.C. She received her Bachelor of Science from High Point University and her Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law.
