Yesterday the United States Senate voted to approve a transfer of approximately 20 acres of Fort Bragg land to the state of North Carolina to build a new veterans home in Fayetteville. In July, Governor Josh Stein signed into law a state budget providing funding for the new home. Governor Stein released the following statement today:
“North Carolina boasts the fourth-largest military presence in the nation and is the proud home to more than 600,000 military veterans. These brave men and women put their lives on the line to defend our country and our freedoms, and our commitment to them must not end when their service does. This new facility will give veterans a home with access to the care they need. I thank our Congressional delegation for their leadership in securing this land transfer.”
