Today Governor Josh Stein urged passage of House Bill 491, which would pull $190 million from the Medicaid Contingency Reserve to partially fund the Medicaid program and allow the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to reverse and delay provider rate cuts that took effect on October 1, 2025. The Governor released the following statement:

(NASDAQ: SOFI), a leading digital financial services company offering one-stop personal finance solutions, will create 225 jobs in Charlotte. The company will invest $3 million in Mecklenburg County to strategically expand its regional presence.

Today Governor Josh Stein released a statement highlighting the impacts of the federal government shutdown across North Carolina and urging leaders in Washington to return to the negotiating table.  
Governor Josh Stein has proclaimed October Cybersecurity Awareness Month in North Carolina and is encouraging all North Carolinians to prioritize online safety and protect themselves from online threats and scams.  
Governor Josh Stein today announced that the Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 21 grant requests for local governments totaling $9,815,885. The grants include commitments creating a total of 758 jobs, 489 of which were previously announced. The public investment in these projects is expected to attract more than $179 million in private and public investment.
Today in Marshall, Governor Josh Stein announced $6 million in grants from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Flood Resiliency Blueprint program to help reduce flood risks across the state. The announcement includes projects to restore the French Broad River Basin after western North Carolina experienced catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Helene last fall. Funding in this announcement will go toward 11 projects in the river basins of the Cape Fear, French Broad, Neuse, Tar-Pamlico, and Lumber rivers.  
Today Governor Josh Stein announced MST Rebar Inc., a fiberglass rebar supplier, will create 83 new jobs in Bladen County. The company will invest more than $15.5 million to locate its first U.S. fiberglass rebar manufacturing facility in the town of Bladenboro.“North Carolina has the largest and most talented advanced manufacturing workforce in the Southeast  – and it’s a great place to live,” said Governor Josh Stein. “We are pleased to welcome MST Rebar to our state.”
Today Governor Josh Stein announced household appliance company Electrolux Consumer Products, Inc., will add 74 new jobs in Lenoir County. The company will invest more than $23.7 million to expand its Kinston dishwasher production facility and Manufacturing Center of Excellence for dish production in North America.
Today Governor Josh Stein announced Judco Manufacturing, Inc., an automotive supplier, will create 60 new jobs in Greene County. The company will invest more than $5.3 million to move its headquarters and research and development operations to Snow Hill.
