(RALEIGH) Today Governor Josh Stein is highlighting Renew NC’s work to repair and rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Helene. Western North Carolinians who are seeking assistance in rebuilding Helene-damaged homes have until December 31, 2025, to submit an application to the state’s Renew NC Single-Family Housing Program (SFPH).  
Today Governor Stein announced that 14 nonprofit Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOADs) have received more than $9 million in grants for housing repair and reconstruction projects to aid in the recovery of western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene.
Governor Josh Stein traveled to western North Carolina this weekend to commemorate the one-year milestone of Hurricane Helene and honor the lives lost during the storm.
