Governor Roy Cooper today encouraged North Carolinians who do not have health insurance coverage to enroll for 2019 through the Health Insurance Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. He also encouraged those who had coverage through the Marketplace in 2018 to use HealthCare.gov to take action and keep their coverage for 2019.

The North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management has released an updated damage estimate from Hurricane Florence showing that the storm caused nearly $17 billion in damage, up from a previous estimate of $13 billion. The updated figure is based on new data from the North Carolina Department of Insurance and damage estimates may continue to change.
