Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced his nominations and appointments to 17 boards, commissions, and councils. The Governor nominated and appointed 33 well-qualified North Carolinians to these various positions.

Sensus USA, Inc., a provider of advanced metering technologies to utilities and municipalities, will expand its current operations in Durham County, creating 301 new jobs over five years, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest $4 million in North Carolina by the end of 2019.

Three new Hurricane Matthew Housing Recovery Application Centers will open June 28 to help hurricane survivors whose homes were damaged by the devastating storm. The newest ReBuild NC Application Centers are located in Windsor, Fair Bluff and Kinston and will join four existing centers in Fayetteville, Tarboro, Lumberton and Goldsboro to help people apply for financial help to repair or rebuild their homes.

Governor Cooper took action on 39 bills that were passed by the General Assembly and brought to his desk for approval.

 

Governor Cooper proclaimed Saturday, June 23 as Disabled American Veterans Day to honor North Carolina’s ill or injured veterans and the service of DAV members across North Carolina. Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a nonprofit charity that provides support for veterans across the nation.
