Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that Custom Flavors, a California-based flavor developer and manufacturer, will create 30 jobs in Cabarrus County. The company will invest $6.5 million to establish an East Coast production facility in Concord."With a skilled workforce, world-class infrastructure and strong business environment, North Carolina has built a reputation as a manufacturing powerhouse,” Governor Cooper said. “The expansion of Custom Flavors to Cabarrus County further strengthens our position as a hub for cutting-edge food science and advanced manufacturing."
Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that Cherokee Tobacco Company will create 39 new jobs and invest more than $14 million to build a new manufacturing and distribution operation in Caswell County.“Agriculture roots run deep in North Carolina as it remains our greatest economic driver,” said Governor Cooper. “Not only do we have a skilled workforce, we also have a great business climate and one of the largest manufacturing economies in the nation to support the global operations of growing companies and Caswell County fits the bill.”

Today, Governor Roy Cooper appointed Douglas Green to serve as Superior Court Judge in Judicial District 17, serving Alamance County. Green will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Tom Lambeth.“Judge Green’s has the experience and knowledge of the district to be a skilled Superior Court Judge,” said Governor Cooper. “I am grateful for his commitment to continue serving the people of Alamance County.”

Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that he has selected two outstanding classified school employees - Cedric Blow with Pitt County Schools and Beryl Torrence with Kannapolis City Schools - as North Carolina’s nominees for the 2024 Recognizing Inspiring School Employees (RISE) Award. The award, passed by Congress in 2019 and overseen by the U.S. Department of Education, honors classified school employees who provide exemplary service.
