Today, Governor Cooper traveled to Transylvania and Henderson counties to assess storm damage and recovery operations in Western North Carolina. While in Transylvania County, Governor Cooper met with local elected officials and small business owners before visiting a major employer that suffered damage from Hurricane Helene. In Henderson County, Governor Cooper thanked North Carolina National Guard soldiers at a supplies warehouse before touring Fletcher to survey damage and thank volunteers.

Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced Weatherby Healthcare, Inc. a medical staffing company, will add 155 jobs to Wake County. The company will invest more than $7.6 million to expand its operations in the City of Raleigh.“Weatherby has made a great decision to reinvest in North Carolina,” said Governor Cooper. “Wake County sits in the heart of our state and is the home of an international airport and a highly educated workforce, making it an ideal location for corporate businesses.”
Today, Governor Roy Cooper and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell met with U.S. Northern Command Commander General Gregory Guillot and Dual Status Commander Brigadier General Wes Morrison in Western North Carolina.
