Today the U.S. Small Business Administration granted Governor Cooper’s request for a disaster declaration for counties that suffered damages from Hurricane Dorian, making additional assistance available to residents there.

Governor Roy Cooper sent a letter today to the U.S. Small Business Administration requesting that the SBA grant a disaster declaration for North Carolina counties that were affected by Hurricane Dorian.

Governor Roy Cooper urged Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr to implore the federal government to approve Individual Assistance for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.

On Monday, Governor Roy Cooper proclaimed October 6-12 Resiliency Week in front of a home damaged by recent hurricanes that is now undergoing renovation with federal Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding.

Today, President Trump approved Governor Cooper’s request for a major disaster declaration for Public Assistance for the following counties impacted by Hurricane Dorian: Brunswick, Carteret, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Hyde, Jones, New Hanover, Pamlico, Pender, Sampson, Tyrrell, and Washington.

Governor Roy Cooper today sent an additional request to President Trump for federal assistance to North Carolina residents who are hurting from Hurricane Dorian.

On Monday, Governor Roy Cooper and members of his cabinet visited Ocracoke Island to survey recovery efforts following Hurricane Dorian’s landfall on September 6, 2019.
