Six local partnerships across North Carolina have won grants totaling almost $1.5 million to support efforts to connect people with the skills they need to get good-paying jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. 

Governor Roy Cooper has established a North Carolina Entrepreneurial Council to support policies that encourage entrepreneurship, foster economic development, and support sustainable, high-quality jobs.

 

Aetna, a CVS Health business, is growing its presence in North Carolina and will add more than 300 new employees in High Point by the end of 2020, Governor Roy Cooper announced today.

LGM Enterprises, LLC, an aviation company that operates the Fly Exclusive jet charter service, will create 145 jobs and launch a company to paint and refurbish aircraft at the North Carolina Global TransPark, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The project brings an investment of $10.5 million to Lenoir County.

 

Cognizant (Nasdaq: CTSH), a leading provider of information technology, consulting and business process services, will expand its operations in Charlotte, creating 300 jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today.

AvidXchange, a leading fintech provider of accounts payable (AP) and payment automation solutions for midsize companies, will expand its Charlotte headquarters, creating 1,229 jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. 

Sonic Automotive (NYSE: SAH) will open a marketing resource and customer contact center in Gaston County, creating 500 jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company, a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, will make an $11.2 million investment in Lowell to establish the center.
