Yesterday Governor Josh Stein urged the North Carolina Supreme Court to protect North Carolinians from gun violence. Governor Stein filed an amicus brief in State v. Ducker to promote public safety by keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of people who have committed violent crimes.  

Yesterday Governor Stein signed twelve bills into law and vetoed one bill.

Today Governor Josh Stein held his latest NC Strong Update to honor the law enforcement officials and servicemembers who keep North Carolinians safe. Governor Stein also signed an executive order to protect the integrity of state government from prediction markets and addressed ongoing efforts to resolve correctional officer staffing shortages.

Today Governor Josh Stein joined the NC Sheriffs’ Association Spring Conference to outline his priorities for investing in North Carolina law enforcement and to call on the General Assembly to pass a comprehensive state budget that keeps North Carolinians safe.

Today Governor Josh Stein announced his recommended budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 to keep North Carolina strong.

Today Governor Josh Stein announced that 66 projects in 26 counties across the state will receive more than $215 million in funding for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The State Water Infrastructure Authority approved the funding. The majority of the funds awarded – approximately $196 million – goes to communities that experienced significant infrastructure damage from Hurricane Helene.
