Amada North America, Inc., a manufacturer of precision sheet metal fabricating equipment, will develop a new product line in Guilford County creating 201 new jobs over the next five years, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. Amada will invest $87 million in a facility in High Point that will manufacture and assemble a line of high-precision press break bending equipment for the U.S. market.

Governor Roy Cooper has proclaimed May 7-11, 2018 as National Teacher Appreciation Week in North Carolina. In addition, Gov. Cooper also proclaimed May 8, 2018 as National Teacher Appreciation Day in North Carolina.

North Carolina tourism generated record visitor spending in 2017 with a total of $23.9 billion, a 4.2 percent increase from 2016, according to new data released today. Additionally, tourism industry-supported employment topped 225,000 jobs to set another record for the state.
 

Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that the State is offering rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Jonathan Martice Andino, age 23, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and the murder of James Russ Harvey, age 34, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Yesterday, Governor Roy Cooper sent a letter to President Donald Trump requesting a federal disaster declaration for Guilford and Rockingham counties to help recover from the tornado that left a path of damage through the two counties on April 15. If granted, the federal individual assistance disaster declaration would provide loans or grants through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help homeowners, renters and business owners replace essential belongings and repair property.  

Ipreo US LLC, a global provider of financial services, technology, data and analytics, will add 250 jobs over the next four years in Wake County, Governor Cooper announced today. The company will invest $2.1 million with this project.
